The Country Casebook series are mystery stories set round a fictitious community on Queensland’s Darling Downs. Each omnibus contains six books.
They combine aspects of the police procedural, traditional mystery, family saga, with a quirky sense of country life, the joys and difficulties of living in a small community, and country lore. The series revolves around Sergeant Dennis (Dinny) Walsh, known locally as the ‘Ogre of Buckton’, his family, colleagues, and community.
